Arlington / National Landing
Arlington is just across the river from Georgetown and connected to D.C. by two metro lines and several highways. It isn’t really fair to call Arlington a suburb. Its location just across the Potomac River from DC means it’s closer to downtown than a lot of District neighborhoods. Plus, it’s full of the same amenities you’d expect in any city: Sophisticated restaurants, a lively bar scene, fun shopping, cultural destinations, and plenty of parks. Arlington, home of the future Amazon HQ2 at National Landing, mixes soaring high-rises and turn-of-the-century homes, high-end shopping and funky boutiques, upscale dining and neighborhood pizza places. Arlington has a youthful vigor and an exciting mix of families and singles, traditional homes and loft spaces atop retail.
